Farewell to Dr Carlo Gentile
Following his many years of work at the Martin Buber Institute for Jewish Studies, during which he has had a significant influence on the Institute and enriched it in many ways, Dr Carlo Gentile will now be taking his well-deserved retirement at the end of the current summer term. We thank him for all the work and effort he has put into research, teaching and the library, and wish him all the best for his retirement!
NEW: Welcome to the Dual Bachelor's Degree Program in Jewish Studies
The new bachelor’s program in “Jewish Studies” will begin in the 2025–2026 winter semester and can be flexibly combined with other programs at the Faculty of Philosophy.
The Bachelor’s program in “Jewish Studies” offers:
- A study of Jewish history, spanning different eras and on a global scale
- In-depth knowledge of Jewish religion and culture
- Three years of Modern Hebrew
- Can be combined with a dual-major Bachelor’s degree in History, Literary Studies, Regional Studies, Theology, Philosophy, and more
