The Martin Buber Insitute for Jewish Studies is part of the newly established interdisciplinary master program in Medieval Studies.
Cologne's Jewish Studies offer a thorough professional training in the range of literature and culture of Medieval Judaism with special consideration of its languages (Hebrew, Aramaic).
The focus lies in the field of medieval science transfer, the history of medicine in particular. The Institute is endeavouring to give detailed knowledge in the field of Medieval Hebrew codicology and palaeography and tries to convey some insights in the research of Medieval Hebrew cover fragments.
In individual cases is there a possibility for especially gifted students to involve them in edition projects on medieval texts.
